2/1/10

i wrote something in my notebook and i wanted to share it. a christine original.

i burn at both ends

write like your heart is on fire
and your only ink
is the ash
that falls around your feet.

write like this is your last chance
to say everything that’s been living
inside of you.

unroll the scrolls of your soul
and write.

because this paper was once
a tree 50 feet tall,
and it was the oxygen you inhaled
when you took your first
breath.

so write.

write with all the power vested in you.

and give to these trees,
the life
that they deserved.

not in the good way.

my windshield wipers dont work.
not good in serious snow situations.
i bought chili's chips n salsa to go

i really miss my man.
i'm happy he'll be home

warm wintery tree-lit moments together.

thanksgving

i have a feeling that this is going to be a very strange thanksgiving.
my thankfuls:

my brother and sisters and the good company they are.
the families that come with them.
my darling christopher.
my nutty mother.
my really nice dad.
no more car payments
food in my cupboards
paint and ink
my ability to create
my job.

whats yours?

"even after all this time
the sun never says to the earth
“you owe me.”
look what happens
with a love like that,
it lights the whole sky."

hafiz (a persian poet of the 1300’s)
